The Forgotten Island is a real-time game environment created in Unreal Engine, inspired by medieval coastal fortresses reclaimed by nature.
The scene explores the contrast between ancient stone architecture and lush overgrown landscapes, set on a secluded island surrounded by calm waters and dramatic rock formations. The environment is designed to feel peaceful yet mysterious — a place that once thrived with life, now slowly claimed back by nature.
The scene was assembled using a combination of premade assets sourced from FAB and Sketchfab, which were carefully arranged, customized, and optimized to build a cohesive and believable environment.
My primary focus was on layout, lighting, surface breakup, and atmosphere rather than asset creation from scratch.
Key visual elements include:
-Dense foliage and wildflower fields to add organic depth
-Weathered castle walls and towers to convey age and history
-Coastal caves and shallow waters for environmental storytelling
-Soft natural lighting and atmospheric fog to enhance mood and scale
This project focuses on composition, lighting, foliage placement, and environmental storytelling, aiming for a cinematic and immersive exploration-style game world.
